What a very well written piece. I have had my share of stresses with the FCP process as a supervisor during its roll out. The key stand out here, sadly, is the continued (and by the sound of it worsening) poor communication and transparency. I suspect it'll only come to light once there has been some higher profile serious incidents.

Thank you for this clear expression of the troubles facing the FCP community. Recognition is needed but I fear is low on the priority list.

Thanks Liz, hopefully some social media exposure may get the conversation started?

Fantastic write up regarding the issues surrounding current FCP practice and governance👏. Thank you for sharing your thoughts which are so relevant in the primary care landscape.

Shame to hear about the entry requirements for the PG FCP courses at some universities. What could have been an opportunity to standardise evaluation of FCP competency may ironically end up further undermining the advanced practice nature of the role. Let's hope these discussions continue to prompt reviews of the FCP governance frameworks to ensure we have the right clinicians working in these specialist posts🤞
